Berpindah Window Lebih Cepat
Disable Minimize-Maximize animation dapat membuat PC Anda bekerja lebih cepat. Caranya sangat mudah:

1. Klik Start dan ketikkan “SystemPropertiesPerformance“
2. Klik tab Visual Effects
3. Hilangkan centang pada “Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing” lalu klik OK.

Mempercepat Waktu Booting Windows 7
Windows 7 hanya menggunakan satu core saja untuk melakukan booting. Dengan menambah jumlah core yang digunakan, Anda dapat mempersingkat waktu booting:

1. Klik Start dan kemudian ketikkan “msconfig” pada bagian search programs and files.
2. Klik pada tab “Boot” dan klik pada “Advanced options”.
3. Cek pilihan “Number of processors” dan tentukan berapa yang Anda inginkan sesuai dengan yang dimiliki PC Anda (biasanya 2, 4 atau 8).
4. Klik “OK” dan “Apply”.
5. Reboot.

Menghapus Font Yang Tidak Diperlukan
Font, khususnya TrueType fonts menggunakan cukup banyak system resources. Untuk kinerja yang optimal, pangkas jumlah font di PC Anda dan gunakan yang memang Anda perlukan saja dan font-font yang kemungkinan diperlukan oleh suatu aplikasi.

* Buka Control Panel
* Buka folder Fonts
* Pindahkan font yang tidak ingin Anda gunakan ke direktori sementara (misalnya C:/BACKUPFONTS), mungkin suatu saat Anda meninginkannya lagi. Semakin banyak font yang dibuang, semakin banyak system resources yang Anda dapatkan.

Mempercepat Shutdown Windows 7
Shutdown Windows 7 lebih cepat dari Vista ataupun XP, namun Anda masih bisa meningkatkan kecepatnnya dengan melakukan sedikit perubahan pada registry yang mengurangi waktu tunggu Windows untuk mematikan berbagai proses yang ada:

* Klik Start dan ketikkan regedit lalu tekan enter.
* Buka HKEY-LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControl
* Klik kanan pada WaitToKillServiceTimeOut dan rubah nilainya menjadi lebih kecil.
* Defaultnya adalah 12000 (12 detik) namun Anda bisa memperkecil angka ini.
* Klik OK dan reset PC Anda.

Ping ke DNS Server.

Secara sederhana, server ISP akan menganggap komputer kita beristirahat (idle) jika dalam jangka waktu tertentu tidak melakukan request data ke server. Hal ini akan membuat server ISP, baik itu DNS server atau router sever harus melakukan identifikasi ulang jika ingin kembali terhubung ke server.

Jika ingin komputer anda tidak dianggap idle oleh server, lakukan ping secara real time (berulang-ulang) ke server dari ISP. Langkah-langkah melakukan ping ke DNS server adalah sebagai berikut :

Buka command prompt dengan cara klik Start Menu, Run, ketik CMD dan kemudian tekan tombol Enter.
Ketik ipconfig –all untuk mengetahui berapa IP address DNS server dari koneksi anda. Pada contoh terlihat IP address DNS server adalah 208.67.222.222 yang merupakan DNS publik milik OpenDNS.

Ketik ping 208.67.222.222 -t. Penjelasannya, komputer akan melakukan request ping ke server DNS sepanjang waktu (-t adalah time to live yang artinya terus menerus).

Jika ingin menghentikan ping request, tekan Ctrl + C pada keyboard atau dengan cara menutup jendela command prompt.

Auto Reconnet pada koneksi Dial-up.

Jika kebetulan anda pengguna internet dial up, anda bisa melakukan setting agar komputer melakukan dial otomatis jika koneksi terputus. Anda bisa membaca artikel yang pernah kami bahas sebelumnya dengan judul Auto Reconnect Pada Koneksi Dial-up.

Flashdisk yang tidak terbaca biasanya ditandai dengan tidak munculnya warning “removable hardware” di taskbar (sebelah kanan bawah) tampilan monitor anda. Atau dengan kata lain pada system tray. Kadang ada pula yang ikonnya telah muncul, tetapi ketika diklik muncul jendela baru yang memberikan pesan error, dan sebagainya.

Jika flashdisk tidak terbaca tidak akan muncul drive USB (Universal Serial Bus) baru dibawah drive my computer ketika kita membuka windows explorer. Biasanya, masalah mengenai tidak terbacanya flashdisk ini dijumpai pada PC yang memiliki daya sistem yang tinggi (salah satunya RAM) sehingga menganggu proses pembacaan eksistensi perangkat yang baru.

Berikut adalah masalah-masalah yang ditemukan dalam pendeteksian dan pembacaan flashdisk, tetapi pastikan terlebih dahulu yang rusak bukanlah flashdisk itu sendiri, melainkan drive USB yang terdapat dalam suatu PC.

Masalah yang paling lazim terjadi adalah konflik sistem pada hardware, konflik pada hardware tersebut menimbulkan kerusakan dalam proses pembacaan flashdisk. Pada kasus ini, flashdisk terdeteksi oleh PC tetapi tidak bisa dibaca. Cara untuk mengatasinya :

Colokkan flashdisk pada port
Restart komputer
(Jika masih tetap tidak terbaca) uninstall USB drive
Bukalah My Computer
Klik Control Panel
Klik sistem
Jika sistem sudah terbuka, perhatikan tab hardware
Klik device manager dan carilah tulisan “Universal Serial Bus Controller”
Jika anda melihat hardware berwarna kuning, klik hardware tersebut
Klik “uninstall”
Lalu restart kembali komputer anda

Biasanya setelah cara diatas dilakukan, flashdisk anda dapat dibaca kembali. Dan apabila setelah cara diatas telah dilakukan namun tidak menunjukkan hasil apapun, kemungkinan besar itu adalah kerusakan hardware. Kerusakan hardware dapat ditimbulkan oleh banyak sebab, tapi faktor utama yang menyebabkan kerusakan hardware adalah mencabut flashdisk secara langsung dari komputer. Banyak orang yang ingin cepat dan praktis menyepelekan Safety Remove USB dan melakukan hal (mencabut flashdisk secara langsung, tanpa konfirmasi dari PC) tersebut, padahal Safety Remove USB adalah sesuatu hal yang penting untuk mencegah kerusakan hardware.

Jenis kerusakan lain adalah, saat flashdisk diklik akan muncul sebuah jendela baru yang meminta kita untuk mem-format flashdisk tersebut. Satu-satu jalan untuk tetap memakai flashdisk tersebut adalah mem-format flashdisk tersebut, walaupun harus mengorbankan data yang ada didalamnya.

Langkah kedua, tentukan dahulu partisi baru ini akan diambil dari drive yang mana. Saya sarankan untuk memilih drive yang paling akhir saja (disini saya menggunakan drive E), jika pada hardisk Anda drive yang terakhir tidak memiliki space yang cukup maka resize dahulu drive tersebut (baca: Mengubah Ukuran Partisi Menggunakan EASEUS Partition Master).

Langkah keempat, tentukan berapa besar ukuran partisi baru yang akan dibuat. Cara perhitunganya adalah ukuran partisi drive E (drive yang akan diambil kapasitasnya untuk pembuatan partisi baru) dikurangi dengan ukuran partisi yang akan dibuat. Misalnya saja, saya akan membuat partisi baru sebesar 2 GB (2048 MB) maka perhitunganya adalah 4078 MB - 2048 MB = 2030 MB. Kemudian isikan angka ini pada Partition Size dan kemudian klik OK.

Jika berhasil maka akan muncul kotak Unallocated di sebelah kanan drive E.

Langkah kelima, klik kanan pada kotak Unallocated dan pilih Create.

Langkah keenam, lakukan pengaturan yang kurang lebihnya seperti berikut (Anda bisa menyesuaikanya sesuai dengan kebutuhan Anda, jangan terlalu terpaku pada contoh berikut). Kemudian klik OK.

Langkah ketujuh, tekan tombol Apply pada toolbar.

Klik Yes pada kotak dialog Apply Changes.

Setelah itu komputer akan restart dan tunggu hingga prosesnya selesai.

Lamanya proses ini tergantung dari berapa banyak file yang ada di hardisk, ukuran partisi yang dibuat, spesifikasi komputer, dan juga kondisi dari hardisk itu sendiri. Jika proses pembuatan partisi telah selesai, maka akan muncul pesan seperti berikut.

Dan inilah hasilnya di komputer saya, sebelumnya hanya ada tiga partisi (C, D, dan E) dan sekarang sudah ada empat (C, D, E, dan G).

Pada Windows 7 terdapat fitur untuk membuat partisi hardisk tanpa harus menginstall suatu software seperti partition magic atau easus, dll. Untuk membuat partisi hardisk pada windows 7 caranya adalah sebagau berikut...


1. Klik menu start > Klik kanan Computer > Manage
2. Pilih Disk Management > Pilih Drive yang ingin dibagi, lalu klik kanan > Pilih Shirink Volume.
3. Kemudian tentukan jumlah volume yang akan di buat, pada kasus ini saya ingin membuat partisi sebesar 14000MB atau 14GB.
4. Tunggu sampai proses selesai, kemudian partisi akan bertambah. Klik kanan pada partisi baru > New Simple Volume.
5. Proses pembuatan drive baru dimulai, klik next untuk melanjutkan.

6. Kita akan diminta untuk menentukan jumlah volume drive yang ingin dibuat.
7. Kemudian kita diminta juga untuk menentukan driver letter, silahkan disesuaikan
8. Selanjutnya kita harus menentukan format drive serta label dari drive yang ingin kita buat.
9. Klik Finish untuk memproses.

10. Selesai, jika diminta untuk memformat partisi silahkan format. Tanpa di formatpun tidak masalah.

Caranya, ikuti empat langkah pertama di atas, selanjutnya lanjutkan dengan menekan tombol Check for updates. System akan segera terkoneksi dengan website microsoft dan melakukan update system dari operating system windows.

Lalu bagaimana jika operating system yang digunakan adalah windows versi lama seperti XP atau Vista?

Hampir sama dengan windows 7, anda hanya perlu masuk Control Panel, cari bagian System, lanjutkan mencari bagian auto update. Jika sudah ketemu, matikan fitur tersebut dan terakhir klik tombok OK atau Apply.
